Workforce Pell Grants: A New Path to Career Training
Workforce Pell Grants may help eligible New Jersey residents pay for approved short-term career training. Learn who qualifies and how to get started.
Looking to change careers, build new skills, or return to the workforce? Workforce Pell Grants may help make short-term job training more affordable. The federal program extends Pell funding to approved career training programs lasting 8 to 14 weeks, preparing participants for in-demand occupations. Eligible programs must meet standards for completion, job placement, and recognized credentials.
To qualify, applicants must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), demonstrate financial need, and meet other eligibility requirements. Funding can help cover tuition and fees, but applicants should confirm their award and any remaining costs with the participating school’s financial aid office.
Start by exploring New Jersey’s Workforce Pell resources and contacting your local One-Stop Career Center. Career Centers can connect you with training options, FAFSA assistance, and additional support that may include transportation or childcare. Before enrolling, confirm that your selected program has received the required federal approval for Workforce Pell funding.
At New Jersey Consulting Solutions, we encourage residents to explore opportunities that strengthen their skills and expand their career options.
Learn more through the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development or complete your FAFSA.
